Does any of you know how DRM works on Chromecast?
Is it integrated on the receiver app?

I think DRM is a mute point. The CC was designed to get content from the provider like netflix and google. Because it is streaming directly from the provider no need for it. Now as far as local content i would expect it to work with DRM free content. Content we have on our local device should be personal videos and not DRM'd content.

I know that isn't exactly true though, but I suspect that is the concept behind it.

I'd guess it's handled by the transmitting app, I've definitely seen a "this video cannot be cast to your TV" pop-up in YouTube. Also,

It's a moot point, not a mute point. Sorry, it's a pet peeve, no offence intended.

Are you trying to say that Netflix is not encrypting the content? I dont think so....

I never said it wasn't encrypted. What I said is that it is a moot point because content that would need DRM should be coming from the content provider like Netflix and Vudo to the CC and not from your local device. DRM isn't really for them, it is for us end users. They probably have their own proprietary encryption and video format that decodes the stream. But that isn't DRM, that is just protecting data they distribute.

Exactly, it's quite possible the stream is encrypted, but any DRM check would be done by your phone or tablet before the stream URL is sent to chromecast.

You'll be an American I take it. Offence is the British English spelling. Although both are considered correct, we created the language, ours is right! bloody colonials lol

I suspected as much! American is always best. Ergo the correct spelling is 'offense' :P.
