Chromecast and Nighthawk R7000 router

My Chromecast was connecting and working fine on my NIghthawk router.
Now, the signal drops, can't connect, etc.
Anyone else having this problem and found a workaround with this model router?
I've reset the router.
I've reset the Chromecast. It took setup ok. Then, It says it is setup and ready..then, the CC casting icon doesn't show up on things to cast like it used to.
Very frustrating. I didn't realize how much I used it. Mostly for Netlfix and Pandora.

I have a R7000 and a Chromecast and both seem to be playing nicely with each other.

I stopped by Charter yesterday and they gave me a new cable modem. So far, it's been working fine now. It's a Cisco.
They also said that I don't need this big of a router. Just an N900.
REally??? I thought with more devices I'd need a bigger better router.

Well, amended: Day 2, same thing happens. I'm taking the R7000 back and get something else.
I know
The signal to my home is ok.
The cable modem is new.
All of the end user devices are working fine other places.
It has to be the R7000.
