Switching groups while casting

How can I switch from bedroom to living room w/o restarting the music. Every time I say play on living room it answers there's nothing playing on living room. I'm sitting here yelling at my home speaker I Know That! Like a crazy person. I think my neighbors are concerned.

I don't think you can switch it without restarting, at least I've never been able to.

Unfortunately, that seems to be a limitation of the way Chromecast (or GoogleCast) audio currently works; you have to stop casting before casting to a different speaker or multiroom group. I hope that Google can modify that to work more like Sonos where you can transition between speakers and groups on the fly

The only solution I've found is to connect it through the Spotify app. Not a huge deal, but stinks if my phone is on the other side of the house.
