My brief review.

I will be adding to this review as I get aquanted with this tablet.

My first tablet was an iPad 1. My current tablet is an iPad 3.

This is my first Android tablet.

My biggest reason for buying the Nexus 10 over the iPad 4 was RAM and curiosity. iOS was
also getting a little "tired".

The apps I use most on my iPad are what I will be focusing on:

• Safari, for browsing
• Mail, for multiple mail accounts
• WeatherBug HD, for weather. I cannot stress how amazing and useful this app is.
• iMessage, for SMS. Tied to my iPhone/e-mail, very useful.

I use a few other apps but those are pretty much what I use the most.
As my review expands, I'll try to include what I consider to be Android equivalents, if
they exist.

I don't have to tell anyone that crossing platforms is difficult because of app purchases and
OS experience. Being tied to a single ecosystem isn't great but necessary sometimes.

One random, yet notable observation. This Nexus has a slightly strong VOC odor to it. I'm part bloodhound, so this may not effect everyone. All the plastic and rubberizing definitely needs more time to off-gas. It's giving me a slight headache.


So far, the keyboard is a slight hurdle and browsing is a little awkward. I'm use to the "back" button being
at my left thumb, top left of the browser, yet it's now at the bottom. I'm typing this using the Dolphin browser
and I'll explain why. One note about the keyboard, the spell assist is very nice. I hope the predictive text gets better though.
With that said, it's no better or worse than Apple's implementation. My opinion is very preliminary though.

My first synthetic benchmark is Sun spider. Yeah, I've read how it is not very useful these days but it was the easiest to run
straight out of the box.

WiFi doesn't seem to be remarkably faster while browsing. It seems equal to the iPad. However, downloading apps from Google Play seem
unbelievably faster than using Apple's app store. Android apps also install significantly faster. The iPad 4 has started using what equates to MIMO,
so I expected the Nexus 10 to be remarkably faster loading web pages, compared to my iPad 3. This is simply not happening in Chrome or Dolphin.
The fact that Android apps download insanely fast tells me that Android web browsers are extremely behind in development. Everyone knows Chrome is lagging behind but even Dolphin didn't impress me much. I understand that web content takes time to load but I believe the hardware is
being underutilized. If anyone has thoughts on this, please correct me. I'm learning as I go along.

You touched on a lot but I did want to comment regarding the VOC odor. While I don't detect it using the device, while unboxing it was very apparent. In fact, I picked up the wall plug thinking it was the plastic wrapped around it. Very strange the odor was one of my first impressions. Glad I wasn't the only one.

I must not have a strong sense of smell because I didn't notice any odor at all. I even sniffed my tablet after reading your remarks. Couldn't smell anything unusual. As far as browsers go I like to use Firefox as it still works with flash in jelly bean.

I would go with FireFox BETA. I installed the last build of Flash for 4.0 from Adobe's site and I kept getting force closures with the regular FireFox build. So I downloaded FireFox BETA and have a flawless browsing experience on the N10.
