Is anyone else having issues connecting your N10 to your computer to transfer music/videos? When I connect it, the drivers installed ok, and it is recognized, just not as a storage device.

Mine connects fine though it connects (in Windows 7) as a "Nexus 10 Portable Device", not mapped as a drive letter.

Do you see an icon on the notification when you connect your tablet?

if yes, tab the notification.

Yeah I get the notification on the tablet, just not showing up on the computer. Its strange. I may have to go in and make sure I have all the right drivers.

also make sure USB debugging isn't enabled. for me it never works on any of my devices unless I do that first.

I just got mine, plugged it in and it recognized it.
I dragged and dropped a movie to it and it copied fine.
Then I just had to download an app to be able to play it since it was an xvid.

Can you down load files (like pictures or music, etc.) from the N10 to the computer or do you need to upload to the cloud and than download from the cloud to the PC?

I had a similar problem, I connected the N10 fine, drivers installed fine and it shows up as a storage device in my computer, but it bugs out when I try to transfer files. I ended up just using dropbox to move stuff over. Wonder if anyone has any ideas how to fix this?

here is how to fix that.

1. disable USB debugging in developer option if its enabled

2. settings-->storage-->[3 dots MENU]-->USb mass storage-->Check MTP.

done.

Thanks, that's what I had been doing the whole time, and it wasn't connecting as a storage device, it was just being recognized as and android device adb interface (I'm rooted). I ended up just dumping the drivers and reinstalling them manually. Its all good now. I just didn't know if anyone else had the problem.

It connects to my Windows 7 pc when I have Camera (PTP) checked, but doesn't connect when I have Media device (MTP) checked. When the latter is checked Windows is unable to find/install the driver while with PTP checked it did, and it shows up in the drives list.

And I thought I was on the latest and greatest with Windows 7.
