Nexus 10 will not connect to hotel wifi

I am staying at a hotel. They have free wifi with a verification screen. When I try to get to it with my nexus I get nothing. After chrome sits for a bit, I get a timed out message.
So far I have:
rebooted tablet.
Cleared Google services frame work cache
Cleared chrome cache
Tried Firefox - no joy

Tablet is rooted, running 5.0.

My galaxy s5 has no issue connecting to the wifi.

Look at the IP address you were given and put that address into chrome with the last number changed to either 1, 254, or 255. If you have an app that gives you network info then use the gateway address.
