Recently, I attempted to turn on my tablet with wet fingers in a humid room. It turned on as expected... then powered down. And then started to boot. And shut down. This continued to happen until it ran out of battery. (I did not sleep well) Now when I try to charge it, it repeatedly shows the charging icon like it does when you hit the power button, so the problem persists.

My guess is that the power button contacts or whatever they're called have gotten wet and need to dry but it's been 48+ hours. Am I just impatient or is there something more wrong with it? I took the back panel off but I haven't found a small enough screwdriver to remove the whole case.

Just how wet were your fingers?

I would be very surprised if the power button on the Nexus 10 has exposed contacts as that is not normally the way it is done on modern devices. The "button" that you push typically acts on another button, part of a semi-sealed switch assembly.

I suppose if your finger was *really* wet...

True. I didn't think of that.
No clue what the issue is then... guess I'll be taking it apart.
