So the only way to take a photo is to tap on the on-screen shutter button? That's pretty awkward, especially when holding the camera in such a way where you can't see the on-screen button. In a few cases I've tapped the Home button by mistake.

My previous device let me use the sleep/wake button as the shutter, which I used all of the time. Do i just have to deal with tapping on the blue dot a bunch of times and hope I'm hitting it just right?

it's horrible in low light ... galaxy nexus was much better!

I've been into photography for a long time, 10+ years all digital. I'm not yet ready to give up my carry-at-all-times, advanced compact camera for a camera phone, though images from the the Nokia 808 are quite compelling.

Saying this, if the lighting is right, you can get some pretty nice shots with a decent camera phone that are very acceptable when reduced in size. What's most important is that you are happy with results!

I believe the cameras in phones will continue to get better and better. It gets heavy carrying both a phone and small camera together but right now it's a small price to pay for someone like me.

I find the camera takes WAY better pictures with the white balance set to -1

I think the camera takes great pictures. Should only get better with practice.

OK...I can not figure out how to take a tiny planet picture. I've google for instructions with no luck. I do know how to take a panorama shot if that helps. Could someone please give me some simple instructions?

Your Photosphere has to be a full 360 degrees, when it is, the camera unlocks the tiny planet option, it's an additional icon that shows up after you take the photosphere in the stock camera app.

There may be a stand alone tiny planet app but I've not used it

First picture with HDR, no editing. I'm sure I'll get better with practice.

Non HDR, no editing. I just turned on phone, when straight to camera app. Practicing for the 'spur of the moment shot'

This is an antique watch fob that belonged to my grandfather. It is from an old Fraternity Club "The Knights of Pythias"
