^ THIS is the kind of info we needed. If we had gotten this on Friday ("Sorry guys! It seems you were all sent shipping notices too early. -Google"), we would have been only a bit upset and we would have moved on. And knowing this, I can stop checking for UPS every two seconds ("Was that a truck? I KNOW I heard a truck.. My dogs moved. They must've heard something. Etc. etc.")

glad i could help :D

I wasn't aware of people getting emails. Even though it's well within their 2 week estimate, the shipping email is definitely misleading and I could see why people are upset. I'm not trying to "troll" anyone, I just feel despite all the ways Google mishandled this product launch they still get a lot of flack for stuff that's not their fault, and I didn't want people to get worked up over a non-issue. Hope everyone gets their phones soon

Life is cruel...

I heard a voice at my door, and then the doorbell. I had let go of getting my phone tonight, so I figured it was my parents or brother coming in and they couldn't get to their key. I open the door to find a PACKAGE, and a man walking back to a truck. "COULD IT BE!?!" ... NOPE. It's FedEx, with a package for my brother.

Its ok. I would suggest reading a few posts before replying with the claim of everyone whining. We forgive you and thanks for the kind words.

In YBOD (Yellow Box of Death) here.

I ordered on the 27th hoping the phone would ship soon but also with my idea of cancelling this week if it didn't arrive quickly. I'm departing for a long trip next week.

So thanks to Google now I'm stuck in a difficult situation. Got my 'we shipped your phone' on friday but since then I've been with the Yellow Box on UPS saying they never got the phone to start with. My CC has been fully charged since Friday. I hope that I can still cancel this if there is no movement this week but given the fact that Google thinks that my phone has shipped (when it hasn't) I smell trouble ahead.

Unless someone's got one of them really old non-color screen cell pones...

Ever since my Nexus S got a screen/digitizer problem a few months back this is the phone I've been using. Great battery life though and dropped it a few times, still works!

just got off the phone with google. they said "it appears we skipped a step and don't know why we sent you that shipping email, because it did not ship. expect to hear from a 'specialist' within 2 days". i didn't even bother asking for a shipping refund, since it did not even ship. so i guess my advice to those in the same state as me (got shipping email and tracking # on the 30th) is to just ignore it.

Then how did some people who also ordered on the 27th, got their shipping and tracking info on 30th got the phones delivered in the past two days?! Looks like a cover up story to me.

Thanks for this. At least now I know that I do, indeed, need to kick in to Virgin for one more month of service on my old phone.

As others have mentioned... just send out an email to your customers that says they didn't actually ship! That way I can stop trying to be home to accept a package that isn't coming. Outside of that I'm fine getting it within the two week window. Also, since the tracking isn't working, I have to check all three porches just in case they do drop it off without signature so it doesn't get stolen/frozen! I'm used to getting a "delivered confirmation" like every other order I've ever made since, you know, ever.

No shipping info yet, and my pending transaction on my bank account has been removed. As long as I get what I pay for in the end I'm happy.

We should all contact the BBB (Better Buisness Bureau) And file a complaint about the cards being charged before the phone was actually shipped. This should be a MAJOR concern for Google for possibly facing legal action.

My card was charged, but the charge has since been removed from my account. Not that big of a deal really.

At this point, who cares...google is a great company and we are all supporting them by purchasing the N4. let the cards fall as they may....while I am also anxious, I am not gonna file a complaint on a company that I want to succeed against Apple...

I was thinking.

I clicked on 'link this device with your google account' option when checking out. I'm wondering if this maybe delaying my and other people's orders? Someone has to go and link my phone id with my google id.

Let's not go that far just yet. While it sucks that we got duped, I would like to give Google and/or UPS some time to fix the problem. I'm pretty sure we can wait until the end of the week.
