Wifi switches off then doesn't reactivate

Originally the wifi on my nexus 4 was on all the time and connected to whatever network it can find.

recently however I keep noticing that it has switched itself off. It seems that when I go out of wifi coverage it switches off and when I go abck into coverage it won't reenable by is self so I have to phisically switch it back on or it stays using mobile data.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

juicedefender or something? I know that mine always stays on, even with the option click "stay on only when charged and sleeping" or whatever setting

Also try rebooting.
