The Weather Network App and battery life

I have the N4 since December and only now in the last few days i noticed that The Weather Network app is brutally draining my battery for no reason.

Take a look at the pic -

And for the record i didnt even access the app today, it's running as a widget on my main page.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, the widget was a battery killer for me too. I deleted the widget and battery life doubled. Now I just access the app when needed. I have Beautuful Widgets weather widget and it has nowhere near the battery usage as TWC.

I also have this app but don't run the widget.
It has little to no effect on my battery life when I check it manually.
It has to be the widget and thats too bad. Would be nice to have it there.

I also noticed that TWN was always at the top of the list on battery usage. I don't use the widget so it can't be that. Even when I'd clear it from the recent apps list it would still be there using up more batt than anything else. Ended up just stopping the app manually.

Alot of weather apps are killers. I use weather bug and it has been very kind.

Are the location services turned off?
Mine are off and I have the 5 cities that I frequently visit saved as pages rather than the app finding my current location.

Ye, it was off and i just had one widget window on the main screen.

Anyway i uninstalled the app now, it was too much.
