Hi, I just got my new Nexus 4 and there's something I don't understand. I copied all my picture and music files from my old nexus one on the new phone. But none of these files are visible to either Play Music or the Gallery app. Just to make sure, I've installed another music app and this one didn't have any problem finding the music files. I also confirmed that the files are there by using ES Files Explorer.

Any ideas on this behavior??

Are they appearing on your Google accounts online?

No, that's the point ... I don't want to sync them, I just want to keep them locally on the device. Same for the music.

Well in terms of music you should just stick with a 3rd party app since I don't think that's how play music is supposed to work...it's for playing your cloud based stuff.

In terms of pictures, gallery should show them. Have you tried rebooting the phone to force a refresh of the media indexing?

Problem solve there was .nomedia files in those folders.
