How to install 'ubuntu touch' on nexus 4 using Windows PC ?

Install VirtualBox (don't forget the Extension Pack) > Download an ISO for Ubuntu (12.04 is recommended as a Long Term Release, use the 32 bit to minimize resource needs in the VirtualBox) > Install Ubuntu to run in VirtualBox (you don't have to burn the disk if you have a virtual cd/dvd tray to mount the ISO)

From there you will be able to fully participate in Ubuntu Touch for the N4. It really is the best way if you don't want to partition your hard drive for an Ubuntu install. You will need to do a lot of work to keep up with Ubuntu Touch; plus running all the changes and tweaks is just so much easier from an Ubuntu Box. Most of the devs are using Ubuntu and the instruction sets are written to be run via Ubuntu...

I've been evaluating UT on the GNex since March and wouldn't have been able to keep up without an Ubuntu Desktop to use.

Here's a VB Ubuntu install tutorial (and there are plenty of others out there as well) Installing Ubuntu inside Windows using VirtualBox

I'd also recommend setting the virtual hard drive at 16 or 32GB if you have the space. The 8GB that most tutorials recommend will get crowded quickly if you want to save multiple copies of the daily builds. (Note that dailies is really a misnomer now. They have stopped the bot from compiling daily builds back in July. Less bugs, but fewer releases as well. 2-3 builds a week as they bug check them now prior to release.)

:) Good Luck!!! :)
