Now reading the title doesnt really tell the story.
Hands down the Nexus 4 is the better phone for usability

    Here is my question.
My GF just recently broke ANOTHER phone. This time my precious Nexus 4 (white)
Now obviously you cannot buy new Nexus 4s, especially the white one.
This phone just became rare.... and broken.
Insurance doesnt have one to give me as a replacement device and wants me to take the S3. (which I dont want)

So now should I pay 200 bucks to get the Nexus 4 screen/LCD replaced?
or pay 150 for the Samsung S3 insurance deductible?

If I get the S3 (brand new) I can resell it for around 300 and potentially buy the new Nexus "5"
and If I replace the Nexus 4 screen for 200. Id be getting a better phone but ultimately be paying more and selling for potentially less.

    Your opinions?

Bummer about your device. Downside is there is no guarantee that the damage is reversible. Even people who are trained to take it apart may not be able to.
The S3 that will be provided will most likely be refurbished. Not saying you can't try to resell it, just not for $300.

I will do my sweet talking hoping to get a new one since they cannot fix my problem. She told me they do have new phones too. But still not what I want to hear. I'm so bummed right now.

I'd pay the $150, turn the new S3 without activating it, then use one of your back ups until you can get your hands on a N5. Also if you have a choice get either a blue or titanium S3 b/c they're more likely to fetch $300 or maybe more then a new white one.

That's what I'm thinking too. I just know I'm going to be sad one day down the road when I wish I had my nexus 4 again. Just like the HTC G1 I sold. Those milestone phones that will live forever.

I only got to sell my S3 for $250 last month. Didn't seem like there was to much of a market for it.

Good luck if you can get $300 for it. It is also that $150 replacement charge that really kills the deal. I remember when they didn't have that charge, then they moved it to $75 but man, $150 now. $150 plus the monthly payments you probably end up paying more then if you were able to just buy another Nexus phone right now and didn't take the insurance.

If you can afford the money after selling the S3 and then pay the difference for the N5 when it is released, I would take the S3 and then use any profits towards the N5.

In the end it will obviously cost you more overall then if you just fix the Nexus 4 and keep it. But it all depends on your financial situation and if you were planning to pick up an N5 anyway.

Well I spoke with assurion this morning. they told me they will allow me to purchase a brand new Nexus 4 from either best buy, radioshack, or T-mobile and they will reimburse me after paying the 150 deductible. So I think I will do that. And not open it and sell it for 325 online brand new. and use that towards the N5.

I just hope I can find a store that still has one available.
    Thanks for all the input!
