I Will be really pissed off because I don't have the money for another phone this year!!! I hate to root and run through hoops with xda forums just to update because I don't have time for that anymore. A full time job with 3 kids is too much time for that

Probably correct that it won't receive an official update but will receive unofficial ports from third party devs.

Speaking from the standpoint of precedent, Google was pretty generous to update the N4 to Lollipop: no other Nexus before it (and the original N7) had gotten a major update past roughly the 18-month mark. The N4 got Lollipop after 24 months, and its been getting every minor update since then, despite the fact it's now going on three years since the phone went on sale. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a Marshmallow release; I firmly believe the hardware can handle it. But I don't think anyone can fairly claim to feel cheated at this point.
