Google now on the Nexus 5 is on infinite loop of refresh

The problem started when i tried to open an app and the screen froze. So i had to hard restart. Since then "Facebook has stopped working error" started popping up. I ended up re-installing Facebook. But now my Google Now app seems to be on an infinite loop of refresh. So basically I don't see any cards and when I go to the help & feedback section in settings it says "Google Now is turned off for your domain". I am using my phone on the home network.

There are starting to be more people having issues with the google now on the nexus 5 not sure what is up and neither is google https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/PUNmDxzZulc[1-25-false]

In many cases it is working on other devices but the problem seems to be centered with the nexus 5

This happen to me with Google now stopped working I just gave it time restarted my phone and have not got that error..
