Title basically says it. What is the best thing to do with my TWRP backups so I can keep them through a wipe?

By default, unlike stock recovery, TWRP will not wipe your "internal personal storage" partition using the default options., i.e. the /mnt/sdcard folder (also known as /storage/emulated/0) will be kept intact, so that any backups you take will be preserved even if you wipe the system partition.

Just a warning, however, nandroid backups are quite large, so make sure you have sufficient storage space to create one, and also be sure to delete old backups once you're sure you need them anymore. You could also save them an alternate location, such as transferring to your computer, but I have found that these large files often get corrupted and became unusable when moving them around.

Great, thank you.

I would also suggest taking one good, reliable backup you feel comfortable restoring to and keep a copy on your desktop. You never know if you'll accidentally delete your memory and it will be good knowing you have a backup somewhere.

Great point
