    Have had my Nexus5 a month now.
    Observed this problem on Spotify and now Google Play.
    Some songs, maybe 20-30%, will not lead to audio output.
    The time counter and progress bar move as if they're playing, but no sound.
    If you skip back to beginning of song they play just fine.
    This is only issue I've had with phone so far and would hate to return it for something so trivial.
    Does this seem hardware, app or kitkat related?
    All the songs are stored on-device, downloaded from the respective music services.
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Love the Nex5 otherwise.

    I had the same problem with my S2 and have noticed that it does it with this phone too. It only has happened a handful of times though in 4 months.

    Happens to me sometimes too with Google Play Music. Mostly only when connecting to my car audio Bluetooth.

    Quite annoying but I haven't been able to find a fix yet.
