I think it'll tell you which carrier will be compatible.
But I need to double check, it's been a while since I checked the nexus 5 on Amazon.com.

So, you're getting a new phone eh? Good deal! 🙋

You can buy a Nexus 5 anywhere and it's always going to be the same regardless of carrier. Unfortunately, unless you buy the Sprint version from Amazon you'll probably have to sign up with whichever carrier is associated with the phone. So if you can, just buy it directly from Google.

That's the thing. They don't seem the same. They have unlocked and GSM and some with a D280 model number. I didn't think of going directly to Google. Thanks. I'm just bummed that the Sprint version I could get free is only 16 GB.

Differences between the two Nexus 5 models, D820 and D821 You want the D820. Sim card # SIMGLW206R if you don't already have one. If you need one call Sprint International and they will overnight it for free.

edit: If you get the 32GB model you can't get Sprint insurance.

Thanks! I read in another thread about activating your 32 GB phone that ultimately people were able to get TEP. Sounds like it depended on who you talked to.

Buy it from Google and ask Sprint what their discount is for a BYOD device. On AT&T it's $15/month on the no contract plans.

Thanks. I was wondering about that. Seemed kinda like a rip off to buy a phone and pay the same monthly rate as getting one from them.

I went to the Google Play Store finally and saw why everyone said to just buy there. No confusion at all. One device. Arrives next week. Now to figure out what Qi charger to purchase.
