Switching carriers from Sprint to T-mobile

I have had my Nexus 5 for a few months on sprint and have decided to switch over to T-mo. The network "upgrades" are completed for the most part in my area but where I work seems to be a dead zone in the middle of it all. I struggle to even get 3G sometimes. All while a coworker sits next to me with a G3 and near full 4G on T-mobile. So my question is will I need to do a factory reset after switching? Should I do it anyways? Anything else I should do before/after?
