I am new to android. Running lollipop 5.0.1. I do not use google+ for anything. I received a message that someone tagged a photo of me which isn't possible and now its on my phone and I can't figure out how to delete it. Any help?

Is it a notification? If so just swipe it away. Then go into the Google + app and disable notifications.

No it's not. If you go into the photos app under photos of you its in there. Problem is the picture isn't of anyone I know. And there's no option to delete it. It just says is it you at the top.

Maybe disable the google+ app in the app settings?

I tried that and it didn't work. So I just deleted my profile and made a new one. Seemed to work.
