Why am I unable to set a default launcher other than Google Now Launcher?

Unable to set a default launcher other than Google Now Launcher

I am using a Nexus 5, and I am not able to set a launcher by default. I have downloaded, Hola launcher, Solo Launcher, APUS launcher and Nova Launcher. But except Google Now Launcher, nothing stays default. I have tried many solutions. Please let me know if this is some bug in the latest 5.1.1 upgrade.
Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! When you install an alternate launcher, then tap the Home button, does it ask you which launcher you want to use? When you select the launcher you want, do you tap Always?
