    On my Google Nexus 5 when I take a video it's fine but as soon as I send it through a text it looks grainy can anybody help

    It is designed that way. Videos usually have huge files sizes and therefore need to be compressed when sent over SMS. The file size that is sent usually depends on the carrier.

    Welcome to Android Central! neonworm is correct. The maximum attachment size is usually around 1.2 MB (which is Verizon's max), and some carriers have an even smaller max size. You can imagine that compressing a video that might be 50-100 MB in size down to 1 MB would make the quality suffer greatly. The best solution is to upload the video privately to some place like YouTube or your Google Photos library in the cloud, and share the link with the recipient.
