Re: What is Digital Signal Processing Support?

In general what they mean is that the feature will work so long as the phone has a discrete Digital Signal Processing (DSP) chip on board. Luckily the snapdragon 805 does.

This really comes down to power use. If you want the device always listening and don't want it to eat up your battery, then you cannot use the main CPU. You need a secondary low power chip that can offload the processing. In this case that is what the DSP is.
