There are only four other phones that supports T-Mobile's move to nation wide to LTE Band 12. If you are on T-Mobile this band 12 support is a key since they are upgrading their entire network with band 12 support. Not even the new iPhone 6/6+ supports band 12.

Cellular network support in the US

The support of all three commercially used US 700MHz bands (bands 12, 13, and 17) makes the Nexus 6 the very first device to be fully interoperable on the 700MHz band, completely eliminating the interoperability problem with this phone. It will support T-Mobile’s ever-expanding 700MHz LTE network, along with U.S. Cellular’s, AT&T’s, and Verizon’s 700MHz LTE networks. It also fully supports T-Mobile’s PCS/AWS Wideband LTE and Verizon’s AWS LTE (branded “XLTE”) networks. Critically, it is also the first phone for Verizon that supports carrier aggregation of its 700MHz and AWS LTE networks for faster performance than any other phone for the carrier. It also supports carrier aggregation on the AT&T network, as well as on Bell, Telus, and Rogers in Canada. Though it lacks carrier aggregation for any of Sprint’s LTE bands, it is a tri-band phone that is capable of accessing Sprint’s 2.5GHz LTE TDD network (branded “Spark”). Sprint to Support 700MHz Band 12 In Its Phones in 2015. Sprint plans to add support for 700MHz Band 12 in some of its devices beginning next year. Sprint does not own any 700MHz spectrum, but hopes to use the 700MHz capabilities to forge better roaming agreements with small, regional carriers. It is part of Sprint's larger plan to expand the reach of its network through partnerships with competitors, such as the Competitive Carrier Association's Data Access Hub.

If I recall correctly, the Xperia Z3, Note 4, and Edge 4 do. Also heard that the 'pure edition' Moto X might as well. I don't know if those are the ones he was referring to, but that would be 4...

With one version that supports all of North America, could a Nexus 6 purchased directly from either the Google Play Store or Motorola be activated and used on AT&T now and later activated and used on Verizon?

If I switched carriers later this year to Verizon, could I activate and use the same phone?

    Galaxy Avants
    Xperia Z3
    ZTE ZMAX
    Galaxy Note 4
I just found out Galaxy Note Edge supports Band 12

Only one model of Moto X announced that model XT1092 is band 12 compatible but isn't being sold yet.

Now add in the Nexus 6 to LTE 700Mhz band 12 block A support. (Note this was UHF Channel 51 TV Frequency )
