Already the media is saying that there will be batteries that will have twice the life of the current batteries.

Is there anyone here that is techie enough to say if the N6 battery is common enough, that it would be possible to replace it with one of the newer twice the life batteries?

    Not likely.
I believe right now proof of concept and lab testing has gone well. They next need to figure small scale manufacturing then scale it to large scale. All of that takes time. Lots of it.
Maybe in a few years but i really doubt we will see it in 2017 or even early 2018.
    I hope im wrong thought.

Batteries are improving, but I highly doubt they will make a more advanced battery for an out of production phone with a not-meant-to-be-replaced battery like the N6.
