Would you recommend the nexus 6 as a purchase now? I either want to try and get a new/mint nexus 6 for cheap or just spend the money and get a new 6p.

You'll see some good deals from Amazon warehouse deals. I got a new 64 GB N6 for $280 about 9 months ago.

Have you seen any good deals on the 6 recently? And is Amazon warehouse different than the normal Amazon website?

Also how is the CPU throttling with low battery? I've seen that it's quite infuriating from a few posts.

Best bang for the buck by far. Here's one new for $249: New in Box Motorola Nexus 6 x XT1103 32 64GB Unlocked Smartphone All Colors | eBay

I can't answer your questions because I haven't had any problems. I may have the Nexus 6 for a few years.

I may just get another Nexus 6 (if current one dies) if the V20/Pixel XL don't impress me. I like the ~$250 price!

    Why not the 6P?

I would not touch swappa. Bought a phone and it was not delivered. Swappable would not do anything. PAY PAL finally got my money refunded. Bought 2 N6s off eBay which are great-- like new $200 and less.

That would probably be my fault. Just got my 64gb midnight blue N6 the other day. I'm pretty sure it was the last one from that seller. Sorry guys! It's a great device if that makes anyone feel better

That's ok. I just found out that wifi calling, which is a "must have" for me, is not supported on the N6 with my carrier, Verizon.

I "upgraded" from a Nexus 6 to a 6P. To be honest, I am not all that impressed with the 6P. Looking on it after the fact, I'd consider it a sidegrade at best. Probably my biggest beef with the 6P is losing wireless charging.

I may end up getting a NIB Nexus 6 off ebay if the Pixel XL doesn't have wireless charging. Love my TYLT Vu.

You guys with the N6s don't find the CPU throttling at low battery a problem? Ive heard it's super laggy at times.

Hasn't been an issue but I try not to let it go below 20%.

You might be better off asking about that on a gaming forum or a subreddit like this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/

I've run across more complaints about Nexus 6 gaming performance on reddit than I've ever seen here. But then again there are always more negative snarky posts on reddit than here. I'm not a gamer myself, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the newer 6P would handle more games more efficiently than the 2014 N6.

I didn't realize that there was CPU throttling, except when switching to low batter mode at 15% (which I believe can be disabled). Is that what you guys are referring to?

But like Wiley, my battery rarely dips below half a tank, primarily (in my case) because Qi wireless charging is so easy, my phone stays topped off most of the time.

Speaking of that.. this is still a great flagship quality phone, with IP67 and Qi charging (which Apple still doesn't have.. unbelieveable).

The Nexus 6 isn't rated IP67. It's just water resistant.
