]After I got the android security update for my N6, i tried to wipe my system cache and can not do it. It just sits there and does not go through the wiping process. I waiting up to 10 mins....and it just stayed at the "clearing cache" or what ever the indicator says in the lower left portion of the screen.

Does using Android 7.0 default this to only clearing cache within the settings menu and not in recovery mode?

I just wiped the cache on mine though recovery. While it is slower then the 6p it did wipe the cache. This time it took 5 minutes. But I think the first time I wiped cache after updating to 7.1.1 it was longer.

OP have you tried again ?

wow that seems like such a long time for a recovery cache wipe. Like others have mentioned.....every other device I have and have used.. (this one included) has always cleared cache through the recovery menu quickly....less than 20 seconds.

I will try it again and let it go for awhile.

EDIT: Yup....it worked fine. I just had to wait several minutes and it finished. I just didnt expect this as I do not use this phone as a DD and there was not alot of activity on it for the last 6 months of use. But it was in the Nougat beta program then got 7.0 and I left the program to wait for the verizon OTA of 7.1.
