Static on headphones after screen saver blanks the screen

I hear some static on my head phones after the screen saver blanks the screen. The sound from the headphones is fine while the screen is displayed, but I hear some static after the screen blanks. I'm trying to listen to music at a low volume level. The noise seems to come in short bursts (about 10 ms long) every 500 ms. I'm guessing on the times of course. I've tried two different pairs of head phones.

This is an intermittent problem that comes and goes.

Does anyone else have this problem?

So no one else has this problem on their Nexus 7? I'm just asking because I'm trying to decide if I should return it to get another.
