if you want a better voice command program than was built into the nexus try out the speaktoit assistant from the play store. not only does it let you check the weather or do google searches but it will set alarms, make appointments, open apps, and other things. Plus you can change the voice.

I put the widget on the desktop, but when I use it it opens the app and she does not respond to me unless I hit the mic and say it again. Any thoughts for a fix?

It seems that the widget just opens the program, and then you have to begin using it. Kind of a bummer....I'd. Prefer that the widget immediately start the process.

If you go into settings and then to activation you can pick several options on when the voice
    activation will start.

if does not detect my location. so every time i ask it to locate something it will say it cant find anything near by. i can't see any settings to use my current location when searching for stuff.
can you guys try "locate train station" for example and see if it finds it.
    thanks
