Google Now search results opening two tabs in Chrome

I've recently noticed my Nexus 7 now opens two tabs of whatever search result I select from Google Now.
For example, I Google Android Central, select the home page from the list of search results and Chrome opens two tabs of Android Central.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, and if so, is there any sort of fix or explanation?
