I've had my 7 since launch...no problems whatsoever... then today, the touchscreen is not registering touches, they're delayed, multiple taps etc etc. No new apps installed recently. Been playing dead trigger lil more lately but dunno what gives. Stock unrooted.

I sometimes notice this happening to me as well. It occurs more than not when I'm typing something on Chrome. Just turning off and on the screen seems to fix all the problems however.

I had the same thing happen several times today. Sure enough, turning the display off and on fixed it...until next time.

Noticed the same thing yesterday. I turned off the device and left it alone until this morning and had been just fine throughout the day then had it happen again this evening. Shut the screen off then back on and all was fine again.

Shutting the screen on and off for me didn't help. Had to do a reboot. If it keeps happening I might ask for a replacement

Wow I thought I was just having this issue today. Glad to know I'm not the only one since it has worked fine until today

Mine just started doing this a well. Yesterday was he first time it happened. It happened while I was playing The Dark Knight Rises. The device just would not recognize touch inputs for about 15-20 seconds.

I know bugs will rear their heads but for us all to experience this today seems really really weird and its not a coincidence. Wonder whats going on inside my nexus 7.

Another thread in here about certain cases causing some static resistance buildup on screen with flap covering screen causing screen issues. Just so happen to just put my 7 in an old nook color case and problems happened. I removed thinking it might have something to do with it but really didn't have time to keep playing with my 7 after that.
See how it acts later on today after work.

Mine has had the same problem for the last week or so. I've just rebooted every time. Will try just turning screen off and on next time.

Using my N7 au naturel. No cover. No screen protector.

I do have mine in a i-Blason case without a screen protector. Not sure how the case could affect it, unless it had something to do with the smart cover.

No case on mine either. I place it in a seven inch tablet pouch when not in use, but naked otherwise

Has anyone rooted and thrown on a custom ROM and seen this issue go away? I'm wondering if it's stock software related?

Mine has no cover or screen protector, had the issue yesterday and a few days ago. I'm wondering if the nfc being close to my gnex has anything to do with it. Just trying to find a reason lol.

Mine's naked as well. It seems to be happening the most when I'm on Chrome typing something. It just seems like have to press a bit harder for the screen to recognize my touches.

I also had this issue twice. Each time I noticed the battery charge was below 40%. Thought this may have been the cause. After full charge e/g was fine. Next time I will try the screen off fix.

I have read others say it happens with other ROMs. Do not know first hand though. But I'm on my second one and they both have this issue but only on the right side.
