Hello,

i have a problem with my Nexus 7 8GB.

It seems to ignore the screen timout settings in the sleep mode and always shuts off the screen after 10 to 20 sec.....even if i set sleep mode to 1 min or higher...:(

it is especially annoying when i read something and suddenly the screen goes off :'(

what can i do about it..or is it a bug? maybe a factory reset will help?

thanks

Wow that would be annoying!

I assume you have reset the device to factory settings and tested it then? If so, it sounds like a device return may be in order.

Using any kind of cover? If so, take the cover off for a day and see if it still does it.

Have you installed any apps recently that mess with the display? Or maybe some battery saving app?

yeah indeed i tried some third party tools which dealed with brightness and battery but deinstalled them... ...maybe they messed it up :-[

so a factory reset should help?

Run the third party apps again, then set both your system and app settings the same. After that uninstall the app.
