That is probably the 4.2.1 update, go ahead and run the update. 4.2.1 just fixes a couple bugs.

Sorry. I didn't read the "4.2" in the OP.

Yes, that would be the 4.2.1 update message. Go ahead and install it.

I would like to know this too. I just "downgraded" back to 4.1.2 and I don't want to upgrade to 4.2.x. I assume there is no way to disable the notification but it does not hurt to ask.

UPDATE:
I just went into Settings / Apps / Google Services Framework and unselected Show Notifications. This took the notification out of the Notification Bar.
Not sure yet if it will prevent the popup for the system OTA update.

3 easy steps
1. Install free System Tuner
2.Go to Startups
3.Select Google Services Framework
4. Uncheck SystemUpdateInstallDialog and SystemUpdateInstallDownloadDialog - picture indicate 3 unchecked - use the only 2 I mentioned in the instruction.

Simple and easy way to stop the system update notification

I installed the app but I do not have the options to check or uncheck anything. Why? Has Google disabled this feature? HELP! I'm tired of the annoying reminder!!!

adrianynat, Im experiencing the same thing. I have the "free" app, but all the check marks are greyed out (none are blue / clickable).
When I do try to click on it, a temporary window pops up that says: Custom application event.

Does anyone have any insight into how to make the options (un)selectable?

Advanced thanks!

Update...but still issues:
The reason why the check marks are greyed out is because Deny was probably clicked or the prompt window was ignored. When you open the app for the first time, you need to click Allow in the window that opens -- do it quickly, 'cause it only gives you about 10 sec.

Question -- SystemUpdateInstallDialog and SystemUpdateInstallDownloadDialog are not even listed under System Update Settings. (I only have UpdateCompleteDialog and gtalkservice) Why don't i have the other ones everyone is telling us to unclick? Is it because I have the Free version?

Will unchecking the "Show notifications" box in Google Services Framework just disable System Update notifications or will it disable all App update notifications?
