If you simply want to see the file location on the N7, then the suggestion from the first poster is correct. Use a file manager app to locate the file. One of the best and most popular is ES File Explorer https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ls?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&token=PouSnxxy. It's free! Another excellent one is Solid Explorer, which is available as a free trial to test out https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer&token=3Qu6E7jZ. If you don't know the folder location of the file you want, simply use the search function within the app.

However, to actually open and view the file, you'll need the appropriate app that can recognize and open it. For example, if the file is a pdf, you'll need an app like Acrobat Reader to view it. If it's a text or Word document, you'll need a text viewing or editing app. Such apps usually have a file manager function that lets you search for the file, while others may automatically locate all compatible files for you. Also, the file managers like those mentioned above often have built-in document viewers, in case you don't yet have an office app. And speaking of office apps, you might as well start out with Kingsoft Office, as it's pretty comprehensive, and even better, it's fa-reeeee! https://forums.androidcentral.com/e.../details?id=cn.wps.moffice_eng&token=0vTRnGJG

Finally, if you transferred the file to the downloads directory, you don't need a file manager to get to it. Simply go to the app drawer (tap the circle icon with six dots it, located at the bottom of the screen), then find and tap the Downloads app. This will open a window that shows files located in the downloads folder. However, using a file manager is much better.
