I was happy about the update until I discovered that GTalk had been forced downgraded to the risible "Hangouts". Is there an easy way to recover Talk on an unrooted but unlocked N7?
For the curious, I hate "Hangouts" because it's populated my immediate contact list with business contacts - people I would never, ever contact that way. Talk lists only the friends I actually contact on the app, so I don't have to be paranoid about accidental calls.
Plus the app looks like something that was just barely rejected by Yahoo - ever so slightly not cartoonish enough. The convo style isn't customizable either.
And who can say "Hangouts" without hearing "Hangouts, maaaan!" along with a mental image of Timothy Busfield as some stoned hippy-dippy dip****?
