Keeps Crashing can't wipe it clean....HELP!!

So after a year and a half of working PERFECTLY my 7 started freezing and restarting everytime I launched and app. So I decided to do a factory reset from the settings menu, however when I did, the machine restarted before it had finished. so I tried a hard reset and after accessing the boot menu, I wiped the Data cache and tried to do a "hard reset" but after rebooting it just re-launches and everything (wallpaper included) is still there. Apps and all. What's more bizarre is it keeps updating my Yahoo! mail app from everytime it restarts. I am completely at a loss of what to do. Please help!
