Can't Connect To Motorola Bluetooth Speaker

I'm trying to use a Motorola T215 Bluetooth speaker with my 2012 Nexus 7 running 4.4.2. so I can hear GPS prompts better in the car. These two pair without any problem but when I'm prompted for the Moto speaker passcode (0000) and enter it, the Nexus doesn't connect to it. Nothing happens. All other devices including Mac and Windows laptops as well as phones connect to this Motorola speaker with no problem and it operates/streams audio perfectly. Is there something I am missing about the connection process for the Nexus 7? I have no problems connecting/using other Bluetooth devices with the Nexus like my Motorola bluetooth keyboard. Any advice or gut feelings? Thanks ....
