Will the Nexus 7 2012 get L?

Will the Nexus 7 2012 get Android L? Although there is the '18 month rule', I am still hopeful that it will get L over other devices, seeing as it is a Nexus.

I haven't read anything about it. We can hope, but I have a feeling it won't get it.

I'm sure they'll be custom roms but tegra 3 is a stretch for a android L

Maybe there'll be a L-Lite?


Y'know, some elements of L that don't require the same horsepower as the full meal deal - like I'm thinking the Google Launcher that came out before KitKat. Something more substantive would be nice, but given the bricking opportunities, I'd be okay without a new, shiny OS until my most used apps no longer work...

this is great news. but i have a question if you folks might know:

my n7 2012 is rooted and running a custom rom. must i revert to stock condition to accept the ota when it comes?

will nexus root toolkit do that for me?

I am glad the N7 2012 is getting L, but I have a feeling that this will be the last one since they are no longer making any 7" tablets.
