OK, Nexus 7 locked up last night. Finally got it to turn off, but now it will not boot up.

Trying to put it into Recovery and I only get this screen... By the way, it says "Booting Failed" up in top left corner...

    Any tips?

As long as you can get into fastboot, you should be able to flash the factory image. Just Google it.

    I need simple instructions please...

I can get to the recovery screen but all that does is bring up the screen above.

Flashing the factory image isn't exactly a simple process--that thread is probably as straightforward a guide as you'll find.

Getting back to your Recovery question--when you're on that screen, what happens when you press the Power button? Does it get to the next step? In case you need the full steps for entering the Recovery Menu, here it is: http://forums.androidcentral.com/goo...tion-wipe.html

When I press the power button I just go back to the screen I posted above.

I have downloaded skip soft android toolkit but I don't understand it

Do you get other options when pressing the Vol Up or Down buttons? Are you rooted or unrooted? Do you have the stock recovery or a custom recovery?

Scratching my head here. I'm not sure what the "booting failed" message means in an unrooted Nexus device. Let me ask a few other Ambassadors.

I tried again with a different toolkit.... Nothing. I don't know what I'm doing... I am way out of my element here.

I guess I'll just toss it in the trash cuz I am simply lost...
