Any estimates for when the 3G version will get 5.0?

On the one hand it's a bit frustrating that the 3G versions of the Nexus 7 (both 2012 and 2013 versions) are still waiting for the Android 5.0 rollout. With luck, by the time the 3G versions get 5.0 most of the initial bugs will have been ironed out, and in the meantime I and others can benefit from the experiences of earlier adopters. Both a factory reset and a Google Now/Nova Launcher download look like good things to do.

Taking the positives, as the sports coaches say...

Any idea how much longer it will be before the 3G versions (and does the 2013 model have LTE? I can't remember) get 5.0?

Tl;dr early December.

See below for what I posted on reddit the other day in response to the same question:

Not sure how credible any of these are, but here are the articles I read (some showed up in my Google Now news feed, the last one I found doing a search trying to get additional confirmation):

Thanks very much for that info. It looks credible, as both the reports I could read (there was a problem with the deccanchronicle website when I tried to access it) gave Asus as the source.

I'm not sure why it should take so long to update the mobile version, given that Lollipop is already out for, e.g., the Nexus 5, but we'll just need to be patient. December's not too far away now.
