How do I remove Android/Trojan/SmsSpy.by ?

Somehow, I picked this virus up. Malwarebytes identified it, but can't remove it. Avast doesn't even see it. Unrooted Nexus 7...help please.

I had an advertising malware Trojan called Hidda.V on a Nexus 7. It popped up all the time with an advertisement, or with a blank page if I was out of range of wifi.

I downloaded Super Cleaner from apkpure.com. It identified the Trojan but first could not remove it, because it had wormed its way in as an administration setting. However, Super Cleaner also allows you to administer these settings, and there The Trojan showed up as a file with no name. I checked “Disable” and then was able to delete it.
