    Try this. Worked for me after nothing else would:

    1. Press Menu from the home screen, then Settings
    2. Under Wireless & Networks, select Data usage
    3. Tap the menu button in the top right corner
    4. Make sure Restrict background data is not selected and Auto-sync data is selected


    Let me know if it fixes the problem.

    Make sure time and date are correct on the device if anyone else runs into this problem.
