Notification sound playing on speaker with headphones plugged in

Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know how to fix this?

My notifications are playing when my headphones are plugged in. Very stupid bug, if it is one... :-\

I get notifications over the speaker too. I like it because if I am listening to music I won't have my text alert blaring through the car speakers.

That happens on both my nexus 7 and HTC one both running stock 4.3. And that's happened on previous android phones of mine too. I think that's just the way android is set up. I think its annoying because I have my headphones in for a reason...that's where I want everything going.

I have this issue too. At least it's still better than having the notification sound blasting my ears off.

Hmm... OK. Well there are some good points here. I do notice it plays it a lot softer though, at least.

Well I did find an app called SoundAbout, let's you control volume behaviors and stuff. Pretty powerful app. In case people might be interested.
