Can't find Google Settings?

Hi

I'm trying to set up device manager and seem to be falling at the first hurdle

I'm following this advice https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3265955?p=android_device_manager&rd=1

I can't find the Google Settings app. I have a generic Settings app (black square with blue edge and blue sliders), but this doesn't contain a heading for Android Device Manager in the first screen or in the apps screen.

Completely new to Android, so probably missing something obvious!

you might not have the latest play service on your device. its usually pushed automatically.

to manually push to device go here https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=com.google.android.gms&token=H_GwCJUL
and click install/installed and send it to your new nexus 7

Bare in mind this is fun my 2012 Nexus 7, running Android 4.2




Check your Play Store and make sure your not missing an update for that Google Settings app.

Cheers. I hadn't realised that there were other apps hiding behind that home screen app withe 6 squares in side a circle! I was just swiping left and right on the home screen !
