how to put it on standup without screen lock?

i don't think that it has a function like that.

it would be nice if it sleeps and i can just press the screen to activate it again. instead of going thru the whole identification thing.

you can disable the screen lock. I'm a newbie to android and I figured it out within seconds.

Settings -> Security -> Screen Lock -> None

I believe that should do the trick.

this is no such option on mine.

slide, face unlock, pattern, pin, passowrd

that is all i have.

Strange, "None" is the first option followed by the rest. I just checked mine again. Perhaps you have a different OS version?

i have the build number; jss15q updated on aug 14th, 2013

and there is no "none" option. am i the only one?

If you have multiple users set up, None won't be there - you have to have a screen lock of some sort.
