I have a nexus 7 2013, is it possible to put older versions of android on it. I bought this thing so I could play with android stuff and now I'm kinda curious about the older ICS, Honeycomb etc os'

Hello,

Gonna go out on a limb here and say you could build from Android AOSP source code the older OS's to use on the new Nexus 7 (2013). I'm not so sure about Honeycomb as mentioned but I think 4.2/4.1/4.0 should be doable.

Wow, the whole point of the Nexus experience is up-to-date OS hehe but OK, that's the beauty of Android. You can install older OS's if you can find them... You could root the device and find a ROM with an older OS version and flash that onto your tablet. The thing is I'm not sure if any ROMs exist with anything older than JellyBean for the Nexus 7...

You may run in to issues as the drivers are built to work with Android 4.3. Not sure if they will work with anything prior.

Great point which I didn't mention in my original response. There could very well be firmware problems because anything your going backwards in time and the older OS setups may not interpret the newer firmware (drivers) properly.
