Today I started having the error code 15001 on Netflix again. Netflix says it's a Google problem and Google says it's at Netflix problem. Anyone else able to get around that error message?

Have you tried uninstalling the application then re-installing it to see if the problem is resolved that way?

Yes, several times. Uninstall, turn off nexus, turn on, reinstall... Same error code for days. Google still blames Netflix, Netflix blames Google. One tech at Google support just got a new nexus and he has the same problem. He says they are working on an update. I'm getting frustrated!

Generally speaking, though, the burden of 3rd party app functionality rests with the app developer. Unless Netflix is specifically contracting Google to do their application, it's their responsibility to get it back up and running.

That said, though, since not all users are affected, it's probably not just an issue of simple compatibility between the latest versions of Netflix and Android, but complicated by an outside factor. Did the issue arise immediately after installing/updating any other apps? If so, you might try temporarily uninstalling them and rebooting your N7 to see if that was the cause. Are you running extremely low on available memory? That could be causing problems as well.

Thank you for your help. I uninstalled a couple of new apps, shut down and rebooted and I have tons of space left. I called Google again and the tech has never HEARD of error code 15001...like we didn't have it when the new nexus 7 came out and comments on the app in the play store aren't there!! He's sending a message to a specialist and will get back with me in 24 hours.

The good news is it'll likely be fixed in the next update to the Netflix app.

The bad news is it'll likely take a bit since it's not impacting all users.

The irony is that the Google tech didn't take a moment to Google the error code.

Yes, that's the good news. The bad news is that I had to do a factory reset to get Netflix back :-(

open the netflix app, login again and it should work it did for me :)
