I would like to buy a nexus 7 wifi 16gb from amazon.com as it is almost half the price as the equivalent version in the Uk.
Will I have trouble when I bring it to the Uk with access to apps such as the Times, BBC iPlayer and Sky Go which I think are all Uk only.

As far as I know there are not multiple versions of the WiFi only tablets and that, in conjunction with how the Play Store and 'Services handle location information, should mean you have no trouble at all with that. The one thing that you may need is a charger adapter if you don't already have some (different plugs for electrical outlets).

Works just fine, my mother just took my old Nxus 7 and Galaxy S4 back over to England with her from visiting me in the USA, all you will need is a UK wall adapter, and when you set up you put English UK, thats it, all done

GooglePlay seems to work with whatever location you are currently at. For example, the Nexus 7 I got from Best Buy in the U.S. opens the Japan GooglePlay store since I live in Tokyo. If I turn on my VPN which makes it look like my IP address is in San Francisco, I get the U.S. GooglePlay store. So you should be ok in the UK.
