Power button wakes screen with delay or longpress

Ever since KitKat 4.4.0, sometimes when I hit power button to wake tablet up it takes a very long time, sometimes 2-3 presses, sometimes one long press. mostly it's normal. Anyone else have such problem. it never happened on jelly bean

Just to be sure, you're talking about waking the tablet from sleep, not powering it up from a completely off state, right?

Do you have a case on your N7? If so, does it have a smartcover (sleep/wake) function when you open or close the cover? The magnet in the cover that activates the smartcover sensor in the N7 could possibly be interfering, especially if you have the cover folded back behind the device.

No cover and I'm talking about waking, yes, slow response

When I power up N7-2013 (cold start) it takes longer with 4.3 and 4.4 that it did with N7-2012 and 4.2. Whether one long press or two short ones on the Start button it seems to take about 15 sec until "Google" shows on the screen.

When N7 is in "sleep" mode, a press on the Start button wakes it instantly.
